Immigration, displacement, loss of life and property, targeted killings and crimes against humanity have profound deep social and psychological effects. After four decades of insecurity, the Afghan people are still suffering from the persistence of war and violence. Despite efforts to achieve peace, this dream of the Afghan people has not yet been realized. Although, doors for peace negotiations h
ave been opened, war and violence in the country have been taking lives of people which youths and new generation have been suffering the most. At the same time, Afghan youths as a large portion of Afghanistan's population "Group of Millions", being well educated and informed are still marginalized and are not welcomed with the right to talk or participate in the political decision making level of the country, to name only one, current peace process could be a great example. . To this end, the Youth Contact Group for Peace as a national program for peace, independent and discrete to individuals or political groups, consisting of new generation activists and youths; was established on august 22, 2019 in Kabul. Since then, Youth Contact Group for Peace has conducted peace meetings, conferences and Jirgas in 28 provinces, aimed to coordinate with local Afghan youths and collect their views and recommendations regarding peace process. Youth Contact Group for Peace also formed provincial youth secretariats to keep its mission going in provincial level.
