We concluded our participation in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 as part of Al Bait Al Emirati, the UAE Pavilion and Guest of Honour pavilion at the fair, following several days of cultural exchange and meaningful conversations. Through our participation, we showcased a selection of Arabic silent books and highlighted UAEBBY’s efforts to support children's literature and foster cultural dialogue through books and visual storytelling.
The participation included a visit from H.E. Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, UAE Minister of Culture, who explored UAEBBY’s initiatives and publications, as well as its collection of 22 Arabic silent books from the UAE and across the Arab world. He also learned about the board’s efforts in developing Emirati silent books and strengthening their international presence.
UAEBBY also welcomed Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Beijing H.E. Hussain Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim Al Hammadi, who learned more about the board’s role as the UAE section of IBBY and its efforts to support children's literature and promote cultural exchange through books and reading.
The participation reflects the power of books as a space for dialogue and understanding between cultures, while bringing Emirati and Arab creativity to readers from around the world.
