Cyprus Community Update 🇨🇾✈️

Over the past days, a coordinated effort has helped many of our compatriots return home safely.

Through six repatriation flights, approximately 947 Cypriots will have travelled back home:

• Flight 1: 182 passengers
• Flights 2 & 3: 303 passengers
• Flights 4 & 5: 291 passengers
• Flight 6 (today): 171 passengers

We would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to:

🇨🇾 The Government of the Republic of Cyprus

ABU DHABI, 4th March, 2026 (WAM) -- The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has decided to exempt individuals who were unable to travel from fines for delayed departures due to exceptional circumstances currently affecting the region, which led to the closure of airspace and the temporary suspension of a number of flights.

The President of the Cyprus Business Council Dubai, Mr. Yiannos Olympios, participated in the morning news programme “Proti Enimerosi”, where he provided an update on the current war-related developments in the region and their potential implications for Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.

During the interview, Mr. Olympios shared his insights on the situation on the ground and discussed the possible impact on Cypriots living and working in the UAE, as well as on business and economic activities.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication with the Cypriot community and monitoring developments to ensure the safety and stability of Cypriots residing in the UAE.

Οι Κύπριοι πολίτες που βρίσκονται στην περιοχή καλούνται να εγγραφούν στη διαδικτυακή πλατφόρμα Κυπρίων στο εξωτερικό Connect2CY και να παρακολουθούν τους λογαριασμούς στα Μέσα Κοινωνικής Δικτύωσης του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών, καθώς και των Πρεσβειών.
