📍 Middle East Update – 8 April 2026

A two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been announced today after nearly 40 days of escalating hostilities. The United Nations Secretary-General welcomed the move as an important step toward de-escalation and diplomacy.
However, continued strikes in Lebanon highlight the fragility of the situation and the urgent need to protect civilians.

🌍 Historic Milestone for in the : Dubai Municipality ( ) Becomes the First Government Endorsed Partner of UN General Protocol for SDGs ( )

We are proud to announce that DM has officially joined the UNGP Endorsed Partner Programme, becoming the first government entity in the UAE to enter into this partnership with us.

At the ceremony, Professor Kelvin Chan, JP presented the Certificate of Commitment to Dr. Naseem Abdulla, CEO of the Environment, Health & Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality, in recognition of DM’s successful achievement of Tier 1 of the SDGs Assessment Programme.

This landmark partnership reflects DM’s leadership in sustainability, governance, and its strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
