But one day, you will leave all of it behind.

**“Every soul will taste death.”**

Death does not care about your status, your possessions, your popularity, or how many people know your name.

The Hidden Connection Between Clay, Fire, Water and the Human Heart
The Qur'an describes humanity as being created from clay, while Iblis was created from fire.
But then the Qur'an gives us another powerful image:
“But their hearts became hardened…”

Think about clay.
When clay is exposed to intense heat, it can harden and become something very different from its original soft state.
And spiritually, the Qur'an warns that the human heart can also become hardened through repeated rejection and sin.
Then consider something beautiful: water softens clay.
Muslims are commanded to perform wudu regularly, washing themselves with water throughout the day.
The Qur'an doesn't explicitly say that wudu softens the heart like water softens clay. But as a reflection, the symbolism is fascinating:
Clay can harden. Water can soften it. And the human heart can harden too.
Perhaps every wudu is also a reminder to return to Allah before the heart becomes hard.

Why Is Tattooing Haram in Islam? More Than Just a Religious Rule
Why are permanent tattoos prohibited in Islam?
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explicitly prohibited tattooing, and authentic hadith mention those who tattoo and those who have themselves tattooed. Sunnah
Today, modern medicine has identified several potential risks associated with permanent tattoos, including skin infections, allergic reactions, granulomas, scarring and keloids. The FDA also reports that some people can experience swelling or burning in tattooed areas during an MRI, although this is rare. U.S. Food and Drug Administration
But these medical findings should not be presented as the definitive reason the tattoo was made haram. The Islamic ruling comes from revelation; these health concerns may help us understand some of the wisdom behind avoiding tattoos.
Allah knows what we do not know.
A prohibition from Allah doesn't become wise only after modern science discovers a possible benefit behind it.

Why Was a Date Given to Newborn Babies 1,400 Years Ago? Science Explains
Tahnik is a Sunnah performed for a newborn, traditionally using a softened date.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed Tahnik for newborn children, including rubbing a date on a newborn's palate. This is recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. Sunnah
Today, modern neonatal medicine uses oral dextrose gel in certain newborns with low blood glucose. Research shows that 40% dextrose gel can help correct neonatal hypoglycemia and can reduce the need for separation from the mother for treatment. Cochrane
The two practices are not identical—Tahnik uses date, while medical dextrose gel is a standardized medical treatment.
But the connection is fascinating:
A Sunnah practiced more than 1,400 years ago… and modern medicine now recognizes the importance of providing readily available glucose to certain newborns.
