Framed Memories series, 2026 | Acrylic on laminated paper | 46 x 34 cm

Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in an Emirati family, Shamsa Al Mansoori explores the shifting landscapes of the UAE, navigating the space between the quiet stillness of the desert and the rapid urban expansion of her home city. Rooted deeply in storytelling, this mixed-media series on laminated paper creates quiet yet powerful reflections on identity, memory, and cultural transformation. By bridging past and present, her visual language captures the complexity of contemporary Emirati life, where ancestral roots coexist with a future-facing spirit. Incorporating symbolic elements like old metal gates and desert motifs, these works engage viewers in a profound dialogue about place, belonging, and the evolving nature of identity under our shared sky.

CAVERNOUS- II, 2024 - 2025 | Graphite, charcoal, ink, acrylic, mineral powder, primer, plaster, gypsum powder, stucco, gesso, glue, sand, fibre-glass & paper on wooden panels | 250 x 397 cm (6 panels, each 250 x 61 cm)

MORPHOGENESIS-III, 2025 | Graphite, ink, acrylic, primer, plaster, gypsum powder, mineral powder, stucco, gesso, glue, & paper on wooden panels | 155 x 217 cm (21 panels: nineteen 23 x 23 x 4 cm & two 31 × 31 x 2 cm)

This body of work navigates deep-sea transformation and ecological evolution under our regional skies. While Cavernous-ll draws from my diving research to chronicle how sunken UAE war vessels slowly transform into thriving artificial reefs, Morphogenesis-Ill expands onto land and sea to scrutinize the fractals of native plant life. From the Ghaf, Cactus, and Mangrove to deep-sea Corals and Plankton, this grid of 21 panels depicts how species adapt, bloom, decay, and evolve within the shifting context of regional climate change.

The Broken Binary, 2026 | Mixed media - mirror, wood, DMC Woolly 5 threads, SS stainless steel mesh | approx. 220 cm by 81 cm

Witness a powerful reinterpretation of Palestinian Tatreez rooted in symbols of luck, growth, and emotional endurance. The installation features these symbolic motifs stitched onto an industrial stainless steel canvas, slowly unraveling into raw threads as they reach toward a suspended, cloud-shaped mirror. Through this deliberate fragmentation, the piece serves as a visual metaphor for the self, directly questioning how internal dialogues can either anchor us or break us apart, leaving viewers to piece together their own reflection within the heritage of the craft.

Fertile Dunes, 2023 | 6mm Glass with UV Print and Aluminium base | 100 × 100 x 80 cm

A city dreamed before it was built.
Sara Al Sulaimani’s Fertile Dunes is an artist’s act of documentation, rooted in the poetry of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may Allah have mercy on him). Each layer of this work carries the weight of transformation: the dunes that gave way, the vision that held firm, and a nation that grew Skyward.

Beyond the grid, 2026 | Acrylic fabrics resin on divider | 180 × 200 cm (opened) 180x50cm ( closed)

This collection spans from a deconstructed desert landscape reflecting our difficult times, to the dense shadows of regional mangroves where meandering branches mirror our inner thoughts. Witness the raw vitality of the color red, where augmented reality dissolves flame tree blossoms into desert sand in an infinite cycle of renewal, and explore “Divider”, a woven structural piece that merges Abu Dhabi’s modernist architecture with floral motifs to question identity, integration, and the traversable nature of borders.
